Our Diamonds, Pumas, Jaguars, Lionesses were all in action yesterday

U8 Diamonds v Belper
This was the first time this season we had a full squad, which was just as well as, unfortunately, we had a couple of injuries during the match.

Sophia opened the game with a nice shot at goal. Belper responded; Frankie saving a penalty resulting from an accidental hand ball. First injury befell Frankie while bravely saving a goal with a hard impact to the chest, causing her a slight winding. Sophia was the next injury taking a hard tackle to the ankle, trying to play on but we took her off as she was quite troubled by it.
Half time saw Romy take up the role of goalkeeper, and she did a good job for saying that’s not her usual position. All the girls again giving a good effort, with Romy taking MVP.

u9 Pumas v Ripley
A tough game for the girls yesterday against a very physical Ripley team. The game started well and Erin tested the keeper early with a close range shot. She didn’t have to wait for long for her next chance. A quick throw by Bella to Millie who hooked a ball over the top of the defence and Erin was on hand to shoot from close range.

All of the girls, worked their socks off, Ivy and Umayyah made some important challenges along with Emilia. Millie, Bella, Dela and Evie were battling hard in midfield. Erin and Katie didn’t get as many chances as they would have liked in front of goal but both worked hard to get to the ball.
Dela was deservedly named player of the match.

U10s Jaguars v Gresley Rovers
Another great performance from the Jaguars. The big difference today vs last week was the number of tackles they won all over the pitch to then turn into an attack. We’d been working on 1v1s in training and the girls certainly took this into the match today along with some superb dribbling and shooting.

First half saw the Jaguars attack following a few shots from Gresley. Several breakaways and a free kick ended up with great shots at goal. The girls looked to pass and move where they could and take on the Gresley players in 1v1s. This carried on in the second half with the same effort and great attitude. Player of the match was Esther O with a great performance, winning the ball on the wing and taking it forward into attack.

U11 Lionesses v Field Lane
(report by one of our players, Edie)
With the advantage to kick off, Pride Park started to advance to the Field Lane's half which quickly resulted in a chance of our right winger, Isabella, who struck the ball beautifully into the box -nearly scoring an incredible goal from some distance, but Lily-May just got the last touch.

The rest of the half carried on in this way with Lionesses creating chances and Lily-May, centre forward, proving a handful for Field Lane.

When the game changers came on, we had some new energy on the pitch and my personal target was to win the ball 3 times during the match, so, I made a „big tackle” against a strong Field Lane player, which slowed down Field Lane's advance.

I was really pleased to shoot, with my strong left foot, but sadly saved by Field Lane's GK.
Pride Park’s amazing passing, communication and effort throughout the game led to Isabella, finally, hitting a well struck volley in last minute of the game
