U10 Pumas v Doveridge
It was another tough game for the Pumas against a strong and well set up Doveridge team on Saturday. Carrying on from previous weeks, the girls started well, playing some really good football including some brilliant one-twos which from one led to Bella playing a pass to Erin, but her shot went just wide. Dela won the ball in midfield, played the ball forward into Erin’s path and she hit a great shot.
The girls kept going with Millie, Dela and Bella doing well in midfield, with Ivy, Umayyah and Tayla when she came on mopping up behind. Dela towards the end of the half nearly capped off a great game for her when an effort from range went narrowly wide and Bella went close from a pass which Evie played. Towards the end of the first half, Enya broke clear and was unlucky not to get her shot away when the defender knocked it off her toes.
The Girls defended really well in the second half with Tayla making a great challenge and Ivy made some great clearances. Millie as always was up and down, and on one occasion she sprinted 20 yards to come and help her defenders when Doveridge looked like threatening. Evie at the other end was unlucky when the ball fell to her but she was surrounded by Doveridge players who managed to block her shot and Millie was unlucky with a shot on the turn which went wide. Lily had to make a smart stop at her near post. Dela was named our player of the match after a terrific performance in the middle of the park.

u11 Jaguars v Chellaston Tigers
Pride Park took on Chellaston Tigers in glorious sunshine on Saturday. The Jaguars played well once again with an excellent display showing real desire to attack and win the ball when out of possession.
In the first half, playing against the wind, the Jaguars attacked down the wings and with through balls to Freya and Wren. Rose, Katie, Amber, Holly, Lucy and Zara were all getting a lot of the ball and helped create several good shots at goal.
In the second half, the defence had to be more alert with Ava, Evelyn, Tiana and Esther all making key contributions with tackles and clearances. Alicia too had to make some key saves.
Player of the match was Wren, with constant running at the Chellaston defenders, shots at goal and a brilliant work rate by closing down defenders and winning the ball back high up the pitch.
