This was a great and exciting game to watch with the girls putting in 100%, despite going a goal down in the first 30 seconds!

A super performance by Ayla in midfield saw her putting into practice what we talked about before the match - closing down when out of possession, getting back to defend when needed, keeping the ball close and under control, looking up for the pass and trying to make that pass or through ball - a great job well done.

Evie volunteered to be goalie while Sofia is away and what an amazing performance throughout - an absolute superstar - yet again! Well-timed decisions coming off her line, making herself big, producing save after save - decision making was excellent, reacting well to every kind of shot Wirksworth could make. We awarded Evie player of the match for the third week in a row - even the Wirksworth coaches made a point of mentioning the "exceptional saves".

After the initial Wirksworth goal which caught us napping, the game remained goalless thanks to the efforts of the defence and the super goal keeping.
