Walking into this game we had high hopes, Pride Park Development created chance after chance in the first half snatching at them but just couldn’t find the back of the net! This was soon shattered by a goal from Allenton 25 minutes into the game, The ladies didn’t give up and soon our chance came when Becky Baxter burst into the box and was brought down by the Allenton defender just seconds before half time a penalty was awarded a calm and calculated Paige Plaistow stepped up and slotted it in the bottom corner - not giving the keeper chance to move.

A strong Allenton started the second half with 2 goals in 6minutes, knocking the wind out if of our sails with a third goal at 64 minutes, this did not dampen our spirits as we got our heads back in the game, and from that point on it was all Pride Park dominating the game.

We saw our chance as Evie Payne took a superb corner and a cracking volley from Aimee Boiling hitting the back of the net to pull one back in the 82nd minute, with the clock ticking we go again dominating the play with Evie winning the ball back from the Allenton defender and striking a low hard shot and beating the keeper at the near post taking it 4-3 at 87 minutes, our persistence payed off when Carys Alsop picked the ball up played a though ball as Evie outpaced the defender and placed a first time shot past the on rushing keeper to level the scores to 4-4, who knows another 5 minutes we may have taken the lead…game to be continued as we play Allenton again next week!
